Course Description for IDS 385W 003:

"Within contemporary culture is the widespread belief that narrating our past experiences, especially stressful and traumatic experiences, is beneficial for both emotional and physical health.  And yet the very notion of personal storytelling is complex.  Moreover, the related assumption that narrating is “good” for us is also complicated.  Disambiguating these nuances will be the main focus of the course."
