General aesthetic introductions to film as a narrative form, with selected readings in criticism and critical theory. Weekly screenings required. When taught as a WR course, it fulfills the postfreshman writing requirement of the GER.

Emory College Online summer courses have required synchronous sessions every week.  Students must be available to sign into the course online during those times (noted as the course meeting times- all times listed are local to Atlanta).  Each course will also involve at least 3-4 hours of asynchronous course content per week (this is material that you access on your own time weekly) in addition to standard amounts of readings and course assignments.  Students should plan accordingly.

The schedule of courses on O.P.U.S. is the official listing of courses, including days and times they meet and the General Education Requirements they satisfy. Students should use course descriptions as general guidelines. Course requirements, grading details, book lists, and syllabi are subject to change.
